Peter Slan is Vice Chairman, Global Wealth Management at Scotiabank. Peter has been with Scotiabank since 1998 in a variety of capacities. In his current role, Peter leads a team responsible for serving Scotiabank’s most strategic, enterprise-wide clients that have particularly complex wealth management needs. He is also responsible for Scotiabank’s wealth management businesses in Bahamas and the Cayman Islands, as well as the bank’s representative office in Miami and its joint venture with the Bank of Beijing in China.
Prior to joining Global Wealth Management in 2015, Peter spent 12 years in Scotiabank’s Global Investment Banking unit and five years in Global Finance. Before Scotiabank, Peter spent five years with Ernst & Young LLP.
Peter is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Peter is also a graduate of the Executive Leadership Development Program at Duke University.
In the community, Peter has served on the boards of several organizations for a number of years, including the Baycrest Foundation, the United Jewish Appeal’s Bay St. Cabinet, the Financial Services Advisory Board at the Rotman School and Ernst & Young’s Alumni Advisory Board.
