Guila Delouya

Guila Delouya, MD, MSC, FRCP(C) is a radiation oncologist and Full Professor in the Department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, University of Montreal. She is the Co-founder and President of the Association of Jewish Doctors of Quebec (AMJQ).

After completing her law studies and becoming a member of the Montreal Bar Association in 1997, Dr. Delouya then completed her university studies in medicine and her residency in radiation oncology at the University of Montreal. In 2015, she completed a master’s degree in biomedical sciences, completing a thesis on prostate cancer. 

She actively continues her clinical and fundamental research on prostate cancer, with a particular interest in low as well as high dose rate brachytherapy.

In addition to her clinical and research work, Dr. Delouya is a member of a Research Center where her laboratory work focuses on DNA damage and repair mechanisms. Over the past few years, she has published more than 80 research-related scientific papers.

She contributes to the administration of the radiotherapy department, is an executive member of the CMDP committee of the hospital, and is head of the philanthropy committee. Since 2012, she has sat on the Board of Directors of the Quebec Cancer Foundation.

Through her outstanding leadership at AMJQ, she drives the organization’s mandate to unite in strength to combat antisemitism in the medical field and in Quebec society at large. 

AMJQ strives to:

  • Build a network of students, residents, and physicians who support each other and collaborate to ensure the future of our community and our profession.
  • Establish a community of proud Jewish physicians who act as representatives and role models for Quebec’s Jewish community.
  • Forge connections with provincial and Canadian medical organizations as well as organizations in Israel. 
  • Plan social and educational meetings.
