Ari is a lawyer and partner at the renowned boutique law firm of Fishman, Flanz, Meland, Paquin, LLP, specializing in restructuring, insolvency and all forms of complex commercial litigation. Ari has been practicing law for 20 years. Prior to joining FFMP, Ari worked as a prosecutor at the Autorité des marchés financiers and prior to that, was partner and head of the commercial restructuring and insolvency group at Dentons (the world’s largest law firm) for 13 years. Ari holds two law degrees from McGill University (B.CL and LL.B) and is on the verge of completing an LL.M in International Commercial and Financial Law at KIng’s College London.

Ari is very involved in the community at large, including the Jewish community and the legal community.

By way of example, Ari is an Ambassador in CIJA’s ambassadorship programme and regularly assists and advises CIJA in specific projects, mainly related to media and law.

Ari has twice served as President of the Festival Séfarade de Montréal (2022 and 2023), and oversaw its unique transition from a fall festival to a spring festival.

Ari has been involved in, served on or been a member of the following legal initiatives, committees, and associations:

Montréal Bar on the standing committee liaising with the judges of the Commercial Division of the Superior Court of Québec; Committee for Access to the Profession of the Québec Bar,; Member of the Executive committee of the Québec Bankruptcy & Insolvency Section of the Canadian Bar Association; Member of the Executive committee of the International (Public and
Private) Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association; Québec Community Groups Network (as part of the sub-committee tasked with implementation of the Access to Justice Initiative) Mile-End Legal Clinic (as on-site and on-call lawyer). Ari teaches at the Québec Bar School (Module of Evidence and Civil Procedure), Taught commercial leasing for real estate brokers at the Collège de l’immobilier du Québec

Ari is regularly called upon to speak at conferences and has published numerous doctrinal articles in his areas of practice.

Prior to becoming a member of the Québec Bar, Ari worked as an auxiliary to the Vice-President of the Supreme Court of Israel, the Honourable Justice Theodore Or.
