Climate Anxiety?
Turn the worry into collaboration, innovation and community

1 December 2025

Jack is a consultant in Deloitte’s sustainability and climate change practice and is currently on a 1 year sabbatical pursuing his MBA at Tel Aviv University. Upon graduation, Jack is excited to return to Deloitte and support Canadian clients as they look to decarbonise and improve their environmental performance.

A powerful driver for change!

Climate anxiety is a shared experience for many people today. It refers to the worry, stress, and sense of pressure that can arise when we think about the future of our planet. Studies have found that more than half of young people globally feel anxious about climate change, and many believe it affects their daily lives.

For students and young professionals, this feeling is especially real. We are the generation that will live with the long term impacts of climate change, and many of us are trying to balance staying informed with staying hopeful.

Through my work advising governments, industry, and educational institutions, and through my studies at Tel Aviv University and the University of British Columbia, I have learned that climate anxiety is not a sign of weakness. It is a natural reaction to a real issue, and it reflects care for our planet and for each other. The goal is not to ignore it. The goal is to understand it, talk about it, and direct it toward meaningful action.

When we turn climate anxiety into collaboration, innovation, and community, it becomes a powerful driver for change. That is the mindset I try to bring to my work and to my time at TAU.
