Today, the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies (FRQNT) and Tel Aviv University signed a partnership agreement to foster the international mobility of female students in computer science and engineering.

As part of the CFTAU–FRQNT Student Exchange Program, which was developed under the agreement, female students in computer science and engineering from Québec will have the opportunity to conduct an internship at Tel Aviv University, and their Israeli counterparts will be hosted here.

The agreement was signed in the presence of David Birnbaum, Member of Parliament for D’Arcy-McGee.

“Tel Aviv University and the Faculty of Engineering have taken the strategic decision to increase the percentage of female students and faculty in its Science and Engineering disciplines. This new agreement is along these lines. “Today, we are marking a new step in the history of Québec-Israel relations; signing this partnership agreement between Tel Aviv University and the FRQNT, as announced by Premier Couillard during his first official visit to Israel and the university in May 2017. This agreement underlines the importance of advancing talents in these important fields, as well as generating concrete benefits both for Québec and Israel. I thank the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA Québec) for having initiated the original meeting with Minister Dominique Anglade as well as for their support and guidance over the past year in helping bring this project to fruition.”
